This year close to $4,000.00 was raised- with some pledges called in and yet to be collected. Chuck & Donna Alexander (founders of HUGS for HEROES, SUMC) are in the midst of turning the reigns over to new leadership. Jarod Barber (Active Military) & Rose Ann Savage are the new ‘Co-leaders’ in training for HUGS. New member Jen Wever is treasurer. Lindsay Morgan is now in 2nd year with HUGS (head of Silent Auction). Long standing members: Rev. Debbie Earthrowl, April (in charge of Registration) & Jim Washburn, Jon Arnold (head of advertising), Marlene Perry (head of ‘Friends of Hugs’) &,Tina Meyers (who along with her husband brought a new aspect to the JUMP by setting up a tent displaying her husband, Glen’s new business (Blind Buck Memorial Bullets and Keepsakes LLC) ~ keepsakes for loved ones who have passed which was a huge hit with the crowd. Paramedic Mark Spiezio was honored for his involvement in bringing home Veteran Donald Armstrong from India where Mr. Armstrong underwent stem cell treatment for ALS. Santa graced us with his presence once again this year and handed out treats to the little ones as he took their Christmas Wish Requests. Knights of Columbus worked at the food both. Hicks Orchard donated delicious warm donuts. Nuns of New Skete donated a delicious cheese cake. Stewarts and Hannaford came through once again for the food both. Top Sponsored JUMPERS this year were “The Two Chucks”, father and son team of Chuck Jr. & Chuck III Alexander bringing in over $900.00 with more pledges yet to be collected. 2nd highest JUMPER was Rev. Debbie Earthrowl bringing in over $600.00.
