House Fire in Greenwich, NY January 12, 2014 |

At 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, several area fire departments were called to a structure fire at 56 Salem Street in the Village of Greenwich. An elderly man perished in the blaze due to smoking while oxygen was in use. The building, that housed at least two families, was a total loss and had to be torn down. The following pictures were taken on Tuesday Jan. 14, 2014 and shows how close the neighboring houses are. Note the one house suffered extensive damage from the flames.
