Update:  The fire appears to have been electrical and caused damage to the basement of the home.  The home is un-inhabitable until the wiring and smoke damage can be repaired.

Departments from Salem, Hebron, Shushan, Greenwich, Cossayuna, Cambridge and Rupert responded.  No injuries were reported.

A structure fire was reported on Sunday afternoon around 2:30 p.m. at the Jeff Cary residence.  The call went out for mutual aid from area fire departments and two Salem Rescue squads were dispatched.
